FAQ

  • WHO ARE THESE TRIPS FOR?

Whether you identify as childfree, childless, or prefer no label at all, our trips are for women who:

-Feel at peace with your path (whether it took time to get there)
-Are open, curious, adventurous, and excited to connect with like-minded women
-Want to cultivate joy, meaning, beauty, and connection in this chapter of life

If you’re in a season of healing grief or actively seeking emotional support, these trips will not be the right fit.

  • DO I NEED TO LIVE IN SEATTLE TO TRAVEL?

Our first trips are for women based in the greater Seattle area - including surrounding cities like Bellevue, Kirkland, Tacoma, and others within about 45 minutes of the city.

Part of the magic of Our Sister•Ship is cultivating friendships close to home, so shared geography is intentional.

We hope to expand to other cities, especially on the West Coast, so if you’d like to see a Sister•Ship where you live, head to the contact page, and send us a note!

  • ARE TRIPS FOCUSED ON HEALING OR THERAPY?

No, our trips are not therapeutic in nature.

While we honor the complexity of each woman’s story, these experiences are not designed for those seeking grief or healing support.

Instead, we offer something many of us have longed for: joyful, life-affirming connection with other women walking a similar path. Your story deserves its own circle.

  • ARE TRIPS SUITABLE TO DIFFERENT ACTIVITY LEVELS?

Each trip offers a mix of gentle activity, cultural experiences, and relaxation. You don’t need to be highly active, but should be okay with light to moderate movement and open to trying new things.

If you have questions or want to discuss how we can help you feel at ease, with a specific trip, please reach out.

  • WILL I NEED TO BE SOCIAL THROUGHOUT THE TRIP?

    Not at all.

While our itineraries are thoughtfully designed to foster connection, there’s always room to rest, recharge, or take time for yourself.

We do encourage participants to look over the trip overview and feel a sense of excitement about being part of the experience.

  • WHO FACILITATES TRIPS?

Trips are led by Erin Hartley, founder of Our Sister•Ship—not as a tour guide, but as a fellow traveler and intentional space-holder.

Erin coordinates the details, nurtures group connection, and stewards the overall experience. These journeys aren’t about rigid structure- they’re about a special group alchemy that happens when women come together with intention and purpose.

  • HOW DO I JOIN A TRIP?

Each journey begins with a 1:1 conversation call.

Because these experiences are intentionally small, we connect before any deposits are made. The conversation is a chance to get to know you, answer any questions, and ensure the experience feels like the right fit—for you and for the group.

If you’re interested in a specific trip, you can find the interest form or registration info on the Trip Overview page.

  • WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF THE CONNECTION CALL?

Our groups are small on purpose. These aren't tours or retreats. They're shared experiences created with care.

The connection call helps ensure the trip is a good fit for where you are in your life, and for the group as a whole. It's casual but intentional.
