THE ART OF FRENCH PASTRIES
Saturday, February 28th from 2-6pm
A local gathering for women without children: A taste of Our Sister•Ship close to home!
Inspired by cozy afternoons binge-watching the Great British Bake Off and daydreams of street-corner cafés in Paris, this half-day laminated pastry workshop is an invitation to get your hands flour-dusty and spend a Saturday afternoon learning something deliciously fun alongside a small group of women.
Hosted in partnership with female-owned team behind Seattle’s The Pastry Project, this hands-on class blends expert pastry instruction with support for a local organization expanding access to pastry education and employment.
The Experience
Spend the afternoon learning techniques for laminated doughs, the foundation of some of the most iconic French pastries!
Together, we’ll make classic croissants, pain au chocolat, and filled danishes while focusing on how to properly prepare and laminate dough, shape pastries with confidence, and achieve those signature flaky, buttery layers.
You’ll leave with freshly baked pastries to enjoy at home, laminated croissant dough to practice with later, and a versatile dough recipe you can return to whenever you want to have a Paris-cafe moment without the flight.
No prior baking skills needed for the course.

Choosing this workshop supports a women-led, mission-driven organization doing real work in our city.

About Your Host, Erin
Hi, I’m Erin!
I created Our Sister•Ship as a travel-based community for women without children, grounded in the belief that shared experiences, especially novel ones that stretch us beyond the familiar, accelerate connection. While intentionally designed small-group travel is central to the community, I also host occasional local gatherings like this one as a way to bring people together through experiences that happen close to home.
Whether you’re new to the community, curious about joining a future trip, or simply interested in spending an afternoon doing something you enjoy alongside other women without children, I cant’ wait to meet you!
What is Our Sister•Ship
Our Sister•Ship is a small-group travel community created for women without children, including those who are childfree or childless, who are seeking connection with others on a similar path.
We design high-touch, thoughtfully curated trips that are about more than beautiful scenery, they’re about offering experiences meant foster connection while honoring the many paths of womanhood.
