Victoria, BC 🇨🇦

THANK YOU Canada…the weekend that started it alL!

Our first Sister•Ship journey brought six women together for a long weekend in one of the Pacific North West’s most charming coastal cities, Victoria, BC.

We set sail from Seattle by ferry, letting the Juan de Fuca carry us toward a city that felt like the right beginning; close enough to feel accessible, yet full of European charm. It hosts a walkable harbor, tiny alleys lined with history, steamy Nordic spas that nod to the city’s maritime roots, and farm-to-table dining that showcases Vancouver Island’s vibrant food culture. I wanted a place that held both novelty and comfort, and Victoria offered exactly that.

What unfolded over the next three days was everything I’d hoped this community would offer: connection that felt easy from the first hello, conversations that naturally drifted from light to meaningful, and surprising bursts of laughter that make a group trip memorable. Traveling with a group of women without children, each with her own path, added a layer of understanding that connected us.

And because travel always has its own version of unexpected, the weekend tossed in a few curveballs for good measure. A bumpy ferry ride there and a “just kidding, your ferry’s returning 7 hours earlier than expected” somehow weaved itself into the adventure. The group took every twist with humor and steadiness, and honestly? It made the whole weekend feel even more memorable.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

From throwing pottery to soaking in Nordic-inspired spa waters, morning yoga, shuttling between harbours on water taxis, and savoring family-style dinners, the weekend blended novelty and relaxation in a way that felt both grounding and alive with the energy of new connections!

And a fun, unexpected moment? Someone suggested we try not Googling anything all weekend. It quickly became an unofficial group “challenge;” letting questions float unanswered, letting curiosity tug at us, and finding a whole new kind of presence in the not knowing.

Nordic-inspired Day Spa

Hot–cold cycles overlooking the harbor. A collective “we could stay here forever” moment.

Pottery Throwing

A hands-on clay workshop that left everyone a little messy, a lot proud, and going home with something made entirely by hand.

Morning Yoga Flow

A slow, spacious stretch with harbour views…the perfect Canadian welcome.

Farm-to-Table Dinners

We gathered around the table at some of Victoria’s best restaurants highlighting the Island’s thoughtful food culture.

Pure DELIGHT BY taxi

A tiny yellow boat, big smiles, and one of the simplest, happiest highlights of the weekend.

I came home from Victoria with a happy heart; feeling grateful for the women who showed up, the ease we found in traveling together, and more committed than ever to creating travel spaces that affirm and celebrate women without children. The kind of space where identity is honored and welcomed, no matter the story that brought you there.
