Whidbey Island, WA
September 5th - 7th 2026
For three days, Whidbey Island became the backdrop for eight women from two different regions to meet, travel, and experience something new together.
We made Captain Whidbey our home for the weekend, settling into its historic cabins along the water and letting the property become part of the experience itself. But what I loved most about this trip was how much of Whidbey we actually got to experience.
We met plenty of farm animals, learned about heritage sheep and wool production, enjoyed a farm-to-table meal outdoors under the stars, wandered through rows of dahlias, kayaked after dark, and gathered over wine and cheese for astrology readings led by one of the women in the Our Sister•Ship community.
It was exactly the kind of travel I love to curate: experiences that spark curiosity, make room for play, and give us something new to discover together.
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
Whidbey gave us so many ways to experience the island beyond simply visiting it. This weekend was about meeting some of the people who call it home, learning about what they grow and make, getting outside, eating incredibly well, and leaving plenty of room for the conversations and spontaneous moments that happen in between.
Sheep Farm
A behind-the-scenes visit to a 40-acre sheep farm where we met heritage breeds, learned about raising sheep and protecting the flock, and followed the process from shearing to high-quality wool and fiber.
Farm-to-table outdoor dinner
An evening among goats, gardens, and dahlias, followed by a seasonal farm-to-table dinner — a chance to experience Whidbey agriculture right where the food is grown.
Flower Farm Tour
A late-summer stroll through rows of dahlias in full bloom at Fainting Goat Farms an amazing gathering for dinner.
Biolumenscence Kayak Tour
We took to the water for a nighttime kayak, watching bioluminescence illuminate the water around our paddles, easily one of the weekend’s most memorable experiences.
Cold Plunging
There was plenty of time for unplanned moments like a few brave souls cold plunging on the shores of the Puget Sound.

“I loved my first trip with Our Sister Ship and made many new friendships from it! There isn’t a group out there like this one where you can experience a special place with other like-minded women and without children.”
“This trip was truly magical. There’s such special alchemy created when a group of women come together to connect, learn, discuss, share and laugh. 10/10 experience of growth and deep joy and belonging.”
