A Cozy Fireside Weekend in the Pacific Northwest

January 16–18, 2027 · 3 days · 6–8 women
Welcome

A cozy Pacific Northwest winter, unhurried

Set along the shore of Penn Cove, this weekend is made for a cozy Pacific Northwest winter: warm meals, fireside conversation, sauna and sea air, and an unhurried pace that invites you to settle in. Just a short ferry ride from Seattle, the island feels both close and a world away.

Erin Hartley, founder of Our Sister•Ship
Your host

Hi, I’m Erin, a fellow traveler

I founded Our Sister•Ship in 2025, five years after leaving San Francisco, where I’d lived most of my adult life, for the Pacific Northwest.

As a therapist and someone who tends to make connections easily, I’ve always valued my female friendships. Yet I found that making new friendships after moving to Seattle, now into my mid-forties, was more difficult. I’d watched my female friends build strong networks of new friends through their mom groups and parenting circles, feeling envy to have something like that for me, which ultimately led to the idea for the Our Sister•Ship community.

Yet these trips are about so much more than just travel. They are about building community with other women that extends long after the trip ends. And most importantly, designing spaces where this life path for a woman, whether childfree by choice, infertility or circumstance, is honored and valued.

When I’m not dreaming up trips, I’m on a trail with my two fluffy Australian Shepherds, cuddling with my sweet (yet opinionated) cat, or hunting for vintage textiles. Creating warm, welcoming spaces is what I love most, and I can’t wait to share this one with you.

“Erin masterfully designed a trip that felt like lightning in a bottle. After only 48 hours together, I feel like I’ve walked away with the start of a new community and the beginnings of 7 new friendships.”

Where we’ll stay

Your home for the weekend

We’ll be staying at the iconic Captain Whidbey Inn, a historic waterfront property tucked along Penn Cove. Set across six acres of shoreline, the inn has been thoughtfully reimagined while preserving its original character. Its log walls, glowing fireplaces, water views and cozy shared spaces set the scene for a winter gathering.

Settle into your room, linger over coffee, and come back from the shoreline to the warmth of the lodge. This is a place for slow mornings and fireside conversation, with plenty of excuses to cozy up with a warm drink and a good book.

Farm Lunch & Hands-On Botanical Candle-Making Workshop

The weekend’s activities begin at a local flower farm and honey producer. We’ll enjoy a warming three-course farm-to-table lunch, with a menu designed around seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients, followed by warm drinks by an outdoor fire (weather permitting).

Then we’ll settle into a two-hour guided, hands-on workshop, decorating hand-dipped beeswax candles with pressed and dried botanicals to take home as a gift or keep for yourself.

The light-filled wellness studio

The Science of Breath & Cold

Led by a certified instructor, we’ll spend the afternoon in the property’s wellness studio for an experiential workshop on the science behind two of the body’s most powerful tools: breath and cold exposure. We’ll learn how these practices can build resilience, support the nervous system and reduce stress.

The afternoon culminates in an optional cold plunge to put theory into practice.

Private Outdoor Cedar Sauna Session & Slow Mornings

Between activities and meals, there’s generous time to unwind. Enjoy a specialty coffee from the property’s general store, take a walk along the Penn Cove shoreline, cozy up by the fireplace with a good book, and enjoy a private session in the outdoor cedar sauna.

A Leisurely Afternoon in Coupeville

Spend our final afternoon wandering the charming seaside village of Coupeville, where independent boutiques, vintage shops, art galleries and cozy cafés invite a little unhurried exploration. Browse for hidden treasures, linger over a coffee, or simply soak in the coastal charm before we make our way home.

Meals made for real conversation

Shared meals are the heart of every trip: seasonal Pacific Northwest menus, with gently guided conversation that moves past small talk into the parts of our lives that rarely get airtime elsewhere.

“This trip was truly magical. There’s such special alchemy created when a group of women come together to connect, learn, discuss, share and laugh. 10/10 experience of growth and deep joy and belonging.”
