YOU’VE BEEN THE EXCEPTION IN LOTS OF ROOMS — YOU’RE NOT IN THIS ONE.

WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA

SEPTEMBER 5-7, 2026

Three Days on the Pacific Northwest Coast where the shape of your life is the whole point — and it’s being celebrated.

Imagine sitting around a dinner table where nobody mentions nap schedules, school districts, or soccer practice. Where the conversation goes somewhere it hasn't gone before. Where your life is simply the whole point of the room — not the exception to it.

We'll be based at a historic waterfront property that has welcomed guests since 1907. Rustic cabins with wood-burning fireplaces, shared outdoor spaces, water views, and the kind of atmosphere that invites you to step back to a simpler time. Before the digital noise and packed calendars; it’s the kind of place that makes presence and going slow feel easy.

Set along the coast of Whidbey Island, WA this 3-day gathering is designed to make the most of a Pacific Northwest summer: Salt air, old growth forest, a shoreline that slows the pace of your breath before you’re bags are even unpacked.

Erin Hartley founder of Our Sister•Ship travel community for childfree and childless women

WELCOME, I’M ERIN

a place women’s stories are reflected

Our Sister•Ship began with a longing to see more spaces where women living without children, could see their stories reflected and celebrated.

As a therapist and someone who finds renewal through the novelty of new places, I chose travel because it offers what daily life often cannot. It creates space to set down obligations, step outside routine, and share meaningful experiences. Immersive travel provides the ideal conditions for friendship to grow - not through forced conversation, but through shared discovery, curiosity, and doing life side-by-side.

I chose the name Our Sister•Ship with the metaphor of a vessel in mind — a space capable of holding the many different stories women carry about living without children. Some arrive here by choice, others through circumstances they never imagined, and many somewhere in between. What matters most is that we are traveling together.

This is the space I wish had existed.

WHAT WOMEN MOST COMMONLY ASK

  • Trips are led by Erin Hartley, founder of Our Sister•Ship—not as a tour guide, but as a fellow traveler and intentional space-holder.

Erin coordinates the details, nurtures group connection, and stewards the overall experience but these experiences are about co-creating something meaningful with the energy each woman brings.

  • No. These trips are not therapy and they are not grief-focused spaces.

These experiences bring together women who often move through the world without many opportunities to meet others whose lives look similar to their own. What we've found is that real friendship rarely begins with a conversation — it begins with a shared experience. Something new, something that asks a little something of you, something that creates a natural moment of did you just see that? or I can't believe we did that. That is the architecture of every Our Sister•Ship trip. Stunning destinations, meaningful activities, and the kind of side-by-side experience that creates connection before anyone has to try.

What happens around the dinner table after a day like that can be meaningful, and sometimes even surprising. But any healing that happens is a byproduct of belonging — not the agenda.

Therapy is designed to help people understand and heal themselves. Our Sister•Ship is designed to help women find each other.

  • This is the question most women carry before they say yes — and it's a fair one. Every Our Sister•Ship experience is designed by a licensed therapist who understands what actually allows real connection to develop between people. Juicy itineraries, beautiful destinations, good food, and in the company of women who are living something close to what you're living.

And yet the women who leave most changed tend to have one thing in common: they came open.

Open to new people, new experiences, and the possibility that something real might happen if they let it. They took the risk of showing up fully, even when it felt uncertain. If that sounds like you, you're exactly who this trip is for.

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot on the trip. Because our trips are small-group experiences this helps us plan accordingly and ensure the right group size. Each trip will have advertised the maximum group size.

Remaining payments are fully refundable up to 45 days before travel. After that point, we begin finalizing group bookings.
